MCOL before bank has even responded

sorry if this has already been answered.
I'm being a bit impatient and was thinking of taking HSBC to court before i even get an offer rather than waiting 8 weeks and then taking them to court, from what i read no-one seems to get offered the full amount unless going to court, and i'm willing to accept no less.
Would this affect my claim though if i didn't give the bank time to respond?
Thanks.

You only need to give them 8 weeks if you are intending to go to the Financial Ombudsman with the claim as a complaint. You must have exhausted the banks complaints procedure before they will consider it you see. Since you are not following this route you will need to show to the court that you have given the banks ample oppertunity to settle the claim before bringing it before a court. Therefore you can file at MCOL once 14 days have passed since sending the Letter Before Action advising that you would file at court. They will be considered to have been given plenty of time to resolve the issue and their failure is not your responsibilty. Good luck
