The stabilo pens are still quite small for 4 year old hands and expensive. Great for older kids. Try some ideas on the link I posted they are all free or low cost (because teachers are tight!) It really is all about building up the muscles at this stage rather than the 'art' of writing. I agrre with poster who mentioned French system. Many countries do not start schooling until 6 or 7 and as far as I'm aware (I'm more kS2 than infants) good practice in early years is away from 'formal' writing anyway. (happy to be corrected on that one!)
As it was his paediatric occupational therapist who assessed him using it I guess I shall have to conclude that DS2 has huge hands for a five year old :rotfl:
OP - Stabilo cater for different ages within the range and include handed pencils for Early Years. They also do triangular chunky pencils which can be useful to develop a decent grip.Eat food. Not too much. Mostly plants - Michael Pollan

Indeed, I swear DS2 taught himself to read from the cereal packets on the breakfast table! :rotfl:
FWIW, I have July, December and March, and there's not a lot between them. Personally I think it's a shame that they only have a September intake these days (although you can choose to start your child later, I don't think that's publicised very well, and there may be pressure NOT to go for that) because I think the extra term can make a big difference.
Depends where you are in the country - I know where I used to live they do September only, but where I live now they do September/January.
As for planning for a September/October baby... once upon a time I thought that would be doable - after years of trying - you start to take what you can get... then she rolled up the best part of 2 months early anyway - and this next one's due the week after her birthday - I can very easily see me ending up with both having the same birthday to be honest!Little miracle born April 2012, 33 weeks gestation and a little toughie!0 -

Yes. He sounds like he's doing really well and like lots of children, is more than ready for the Xmas break.
My Y6 child is currently in bed on day 5 of flu. She's very ready for a break.0
