Locked out of MSE

I spend a fair bit of time browsing on MSE and about once or twice a week I get locked out and get this message

Bad Request
Your browser sent a request that this server could not understand.
Size of a request header field exceeds server limit.
Cookie: vbulletin_collapse=forumhome_birthdays%0Aforumhome_stats%0Aforumhome_activeusers%0Athanks47455265%0Athanks47511285%0Athanks47510899%0Athanks47539427%0A

I then need to reboot my laptop and can then access MSE again (till next time :o). Do any of you know if there is a simple solution to this. I use Firefox and Avast.
