Faulty meter HELP URGENT

were on a key meter for electric, and for a week now it has been taking £8 per day!
Checked with nopwer readings on 10th dec, had to ring them back again after they said everything was normal, on the 13th to state it was still taking £8 per day.
Found out that the meter is clocking over 50 units per day, talked with energy efficiency team who advised me that this time last year we were only using 17 units per day. They admitted something was not right and asked if we were running more than usuall, were not.
Customer services booked meter exchange for 14th january 2013, but i have put on £90 so far and this will run out on monday 17th dec. Cannot afford to put anymore credit on the meter and npower have refused to help, other than saying ring them on tuesday to see if we can bring the meter exchange forward.
I have 3 kids and pregnant with lil un no 4. with no electric we will have no heating (oil) cause the boiler will not work unless hooked up as the pump will not work, we will have no water again because of the pump. will not have any electric, no cooker, hot water, cold water.
At my wits end, is there anyway i have a chance of getting them to help me out?
Whats their legal obligation to customers facing faulty meters?
Not enough time left to see citizens advice before we have nothing.

Im not so sure it is 100% the meter, it could be anything from maybe your pump or boiler. Also the cold is bitter this year. Due to the time of year they will be on skeleton appointments. If you think its faulty have it tested firstDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

Has the meter got a little red light on the front of it which intermittantly flashes?
Take a look at it at random times during the day and evening to see how fast its flashing. If you look at it, and its flashing so fast that it looks like a strobe, then chances are its consumption rather than a faulty meter.
50 units per day, could be explained by something as simple as a 1kw heater just being constantly left switched on when added to your normal daily usage of 17kw/h, so yes its a lot of Electricity but it could be easily explained just by one appliance switched on 24/7"Dont expect anybody else to support you, maybe you have a trust fund, maybe you have a wealthy spouse, but you never know when each one, might run out" - Mary Schmich0 -
Screen "G" is recording your kwhrs useage, as chanz4 says,completely rule out other factors before blaming the meter0
