Aylesbury parking tickets

Does anyone know if UKPC is a genuine company and if I have to pay their fine? Got a ticket when I popped into Argos - I've never known charges for that shoppiong centre before and didnt see the signs!

It is a genuine company but you don't need to pay the 'fine'.

The reason I use inverted commas is that it actually isn't a fine, its an invoice for breaching a contract, and legally you don't need to pay them a penny.

UKPC are a genuine company, but they haven't issued you with a fine. It's an invoice which you can ignore. I bet they are asking for something like £80. The only money that can be claimed by the landowner ( not the parking company) is an amount that reflects the actual loss they have suffered. In your case that that would amount to a big fat zero.

This company are well known on here and you can see some of the letters they might send out at the top of this forum.
What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?

Please take 10 minutes out to see the other threads on this page. The previous replies may be of some reassurance.

Your exam for today is, after reading through a few, is "When is a Private Parking Company able to legitimately "fine" you?"

Please come back on with the answer and let us know if this forum actually is helping people. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Thanks and have a Merry Christmas.
  • Hi Everyone
Thanks for the info - I will not pay and see what happens!
  • I got an invoice from the UKPC scammers on my car when it was parked in this free Aylesbury car park about 18 months ago. Disgusted, I searched, found this forum, did some reading and followed the copious advice to IGNORE these pond life.
I received all the promised toilet paper from UKPC and their various debt collector incarnations. All the letters promised dire consequences for not coughing up (court action, bailiffs, CCJs, credit rating damage, yada, yada). Every letter also used the usual weasel words 'might', 'maybe' etc, confirming the lack of substance to their claims.

The letters stopped a few months later. End of.

Firstly, a huge thankyou to the stalwarts here who patiently give out daily, sound advice on the nature and treatment of these scammers.

Secondly, to anyone reading who is worrying about one of these invoices, please trust the advice. It works.
  • I am going to Aylsebury on Monday, can you tell me exactly where it is...........so I can go park there?
  • Cambridge close retail park, Aylesbury, HP20 1DF

I hold the retailers responsible for letting their landowners have UKPC extort money from customers. FWIW, I no longer spend money with any of the retailers represented on the site. A small protest, but 'tis my own.

Why retailers put up with the scam is that when their customers are threatened by these scammers many just pay and do nowt else, the few that complain to the retailers are fobbed off with "it's nothing to do with us" and most just accept that.

If everyone complained retailers would suddenly 'discover' that they can actually 'do something about it'!

What would make retailers 'do something about it' would be if every customer who was scammed or threatened were to make it plain to them that saying "it's nowt to do with them" just isn't good enough and inform them that they will never give them custom again and advise there friends to do likewise.

You have done the right thing by not spending any money with the retailers represented on 'your' site but make sure you let those retailers know you are doing so and why. :)

As suggested, make sure those retailer know why you are not going there any more. If there's one thing retailers hate more than reduced footfall, it's not knowing why that's the case.
