I've got a new camera on its way! Yipee! The only thing is that my flat is so small and dark that I constantly have my microwave, fridge or toaster on show when I photograph things! I was thinking of making a screen with some white board or even mdf.... any ideas?
Further, what's the best tip for getting more light: the camera I've ordered hasnt got what it would need to add on an extra.... what do you call it? that gives more light? sorry thick question
. Is there any point in getting a special lamp or something?
What does everyone else do then?

I read on here about using a white bath as a backdrop, but not tried it myself. Use the camera macro button to zoom in as close to the object as you can and edit out the unnecessary surrounding items on your pc.

I use 2 large white boards, one on floor, one against wall as backdrop, and take all Pics in daylight.

Very informative, however, not sure how I can build a tent big enough photographing a mannequin dummy!
My kids would have a field day runningi in, around and out of it!
yeah, that's another question for another thread: how to photograph without the kids coming into the pic!0 -

I use to use Photoshop but dont have it anymore, I try changing colours etc and it works but I havent figured out how to do that without changing the background: it's awful when the top Im making look more green looks great but the background looks really awful all green! Will keep your tip re: macro button in mind when my camera arrives!0 -
I dont know much about the techie side of cameras, but my tip is always take a photo that would appeal to you if you saw it in a listing. I personally prefer photos that suggest the person has taken a bit of effort, so has not got stuff in the background. Also people will tend to be scanning whats in your cupboards and examing your decor rather than looking at your item for sale if you have too much clutter. Even if you try ( and its difficult) to set aside some time and photograhph all your things that you want to, or are even considering to put on listings. Then you can clear the room as much as possible and keep the photos on your computer for the future. Personally I think people are very infulenced by the photo you have. Good luck !0
