toolbars usually get on by not paying attention to the automatically selected tick boxes when installing new software.

you may also want to give the machine a scan with this http://www.filehippo.com/download_malwarebytes_anti_malware/

Not so, I'm afraid. This vermin virus attaches itself even when all the 'decline' boxes are ticked. I got it when I installed DivX and it took days to get rid of.

Where exactly are the tabs, Chrome or IE?

It isn't a virus - It's just a toolbar that changes browser settings. It's not the easiest to remove for non-savvy users, hence some users find it difficult to remove completely from all browsers - annoying, but not particularly malicious.

Sites that hysterically proclaim this to be a "nasty virus" usually have there own affiliated crapware or service to push. Their intention is to scare the uninformed into downloading their crapware etc.

Again, I have to disagree. I am fairly pc savie but getting rid of this thing took me nearly 3 days. I scoured the net looking for answers but literally 100's of others experienced the same problems and there seemed to be no proper solution. After going through thorough deletions and it not even showing up in Revo, CCleaner, add/remove or a windows search nor registry search, it always came back. This was on xp, sp3, IE8 and Chrome and Firefox. So this IMHO a virus as it replicates itself.

I emailed their support team and although they were good enough to reply none of their solutions helped. This is the content:

    Dear Mam,

thank you for taking the time to write us.

Please accept my apology for any inconvenience.

please go to Control Panel, click Programs (software).

Uninstall "Browser Manager" + "Bprotector" + "Object Installer" + "Babylon Toolbar on IE"

The only thing in the end was to reinstall say Firefox, and I was forced to not tick (or was it untick) the option of keeping all settings etc. So I had to export all my favorites in HTML files to desktop. When I reinstalled it I imported them.
