in Techie Stuff
have 2 pc's my epson printer has stopped working.
i have tried all the fixes with no luck
i have now attached it to another pc with the same leads and it is working fine ----so what can the problem be??
when the problem first occurred i got an error message informing me that my pc cannot communicate with my printer----i checked all cables-everything was ok
all my usb ports are working ok as i have other devices plugged in them plus i swapped the printer cable to a vacant port but still no luck
as my epson is a usb device i was going to uninstall the hardware using device manager and then reinstall but not sure how to proceed--- but if anyone has any better ideas how i can solve this problem please post below
thanks

Are you connecting to the same usb port as before?
also make sure your printer is set to usb and not lpt1.
to do this go to printers, right click the printer and go to properties. from here you should have a tabbed marked ports. Check which port is selected. it should be something along the lines of USB1 or similar.
Failing that connect the printer and check in the device manager that its installed correctly. Any yellow question marks would sugest that the instalation has failed.
Another option is to remove all your epson printing software, reinstall it and then reattatch the printer. it should see it as a new instalation.
to do this go to control panel, add remove and uninstall the epson software. make sure your printer is not connected at this point.
let this finnish and check you have no epson printer installed in the printers option. Now reinstall the software making sure you do not connect the cable (unless told to do so) once the software is installed attach the printer. it will say its found new hardware and should then finnish the install for you.kicking squealing gucci little piggy.0 -
You don't need to uninstal the software.
In Dev Mgr check that there are no errors showing on USB. If so, delete.
Disconnect the printer. In Printers delete the Epson. Turn the PC off.
Connect the printer and turn it on. Start the PC.
It should find the printer on startup and sort the drivers out.
Report back any errors.0
