Nice, just returned from three weeks holiday

Not as hot as previous years, one night it was cold

Three days cloudy an very windy

Been going for over twenty years and this is the coldest we have ever experienced, several people commented if someone had gone for a week they would have been disappointed

Found Glasgow-boa vista flights for £117, but we live in Surrey, and the hotels appear sold out. I'd still book it if it was from gatwick, or if it was to a slightly better destination though...

23rd dec returning 30th if anyone is interested.....

Looking at agadir, found some reasonable flights to go there, but not sure if it is really beach weather, and if the accommodation is up to much, or rather past its best.
  • Wish I was off work for a few weeks....Glasgow flight sounds good lol.

We have been in Agadir 3 times for a day - from a cruise. It's ok, however I don't know about the hotels. I did think some of them looked fine - there are Riu and I'm sure some other chains. Why not check tripadvisor so that you have shortlisted a few hotels should that become one of your options. It is getting rather close now, so you don't have much time to research. I have seen quite an improvement in Agadir over the last few years (first there about 10 years ago). The beach is really nice, and the marina area is nice too. Weather should be ok - borderline. We were on the beach last November (about 20th Nov), but when we went in January one time it was a bit chilly (wore a light cardi but took it off a few times during day). It's not a place for wearing shorts and vests (except on the beach or at pool) with it being a muslim country.

Looking at Gran Canaria at the moment. Quite a lot of flights for around £150-£200 return, which isn't bad.

Have been to Tenerife before. It's ok.

Not sure if Gran Canaria is nicer.

Going to pass on Agadir I think.

Flights on 25th to Tenerife are pretty cheap atm, lots for around £150 return or less......it's finding accomodation that's the problem at this point. :(

    Yeah I saw that.

Accommodation is a problem for sure.

I've found cheap flights (£23) FROM Gran Canaria to Bristol, but nothing reasonable from Bristol to Gran Canaria - Ryanair at £159 one-way, plus baggage fees, breathing fees, etc., being treated like scum at no extra charge.

Limited/expensive (especially for a family of 4) accommodation choices also.

Hmm, looking at Boa Vista, Cape Verde.

We went to Gambia a couple of years ago, which was nice. I heard Boa Vista is tediously boring though.

No argument from me on that one - though we went to Sal, which is one of the other Cape Verde islands. I won't be troubling it a second time.
