After a really skint month and using my HSBC card again I got paid today and am starting afresh. I have £216 after all my bills, shopping and my agreed amount of debt repayments to last me the month. I need to use this for petrol ( don't use that much as only 15mins to work and back) and general spending so hoping to use a fair bit of this to pay off debt. My challange for the month is to use as little money as possible this month of my spending budget. Today i am going to spend nothing!

Well good news-i managed not to spend anything yesterday and also have gained £20 a month because I miscalculated my outgoings. I am not going to spend anything today either. I now have £236 to last me until May 23rd. Tonight I am going to put some baby clothes on ebay-if i write it here i have to do it!-I am going to put my 0-3 months clothes on and my 3-6 month clothes on.HSBC Visa-High interest-£2349.23 Nat West £2605.18

Well done on your no spend days! Baby clothes seem to go quite well on eBay, so hopefully that will give you a bit extra. Are you splitting it down into a weekly budget or just trying to spend as little as possible all month?
Good luck with it, I'll keep checking back to see how you're going on!"I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250 -
hi there, so far so good!
If work is only 15 mins away, is there any other cheaper way of getting there that would save you money on the petrol?
Ebaying is a lifesaver though, we have made over £1000 this year by having a clearout, and we still have a load of junk in the house that we need to sell one way or another!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. Thanks for the support everyone! Snaggles-I'm trying to just spend as little as I can over the month and what is left over (hopefully there will be something left over!) I will pop on one of my debts. Hypno-I would love to cycle to work as I'm a bit of a fitness freak but I have to take my son to nursery and I'm a bit accident prone so wouldn't trust myself to get him there in one piece! Ebay is great but I've been a bit lax in putting stuff on recently so need to get going again. Joe-it's only been 2 days but I am seeing this as a real challange. I'm going bowling with work tomorrow (it was a fiver which I paid last month and I get a meal and bowling for this) and was wondering if I could get away with ordering tap water for a drink!HSBC Visa-High interest-£2349.23 Nat West £2605.18

It is very addictive not to spend, in fact I have got into the habbit of not going the shops on the way home from work - then making other half go later on, and of course he buy's it.:rotfl: It has saved me a lot as I don't pick up things I don't really need. I do of course do a weekly shop:rolleyes:became debt free December 060

Back on again to post-finding it quite therapeutic to write down what I am doing money wise each day. Good news yesterday-got a letter from pet insurance saying my dog has been accepted-I was paying 19.37 a month with Tesco and have got it down to 13.97 despite a preexisting condition of arthrits. Every little helps! Didn't spend anything yesterday but have to get petrol today so will have to get my wallet out! i've been on the cheap petrol site to find out where to get the cheapest in my area already. I'm going bowling tonight but will make a drink last all night and then get tapwater. Hope noone from work notices! I meant to put my 0-3 and 3-6 months baby clothes on ebay last night but after doing my housework I ironed the clothes and photographed them but then it was 22.00 and decided it might be a bit too late to put them on. I'll put them on tomorrow night at 8.00pm.HSBC Visa-High interest-£2349.23 Nat West £2605.18

You've made a great start to the month, and allowing yourself the odd drink etc will hopefully keep you on the wagon more. What I tend to do when I go out is offer to drive & pick people up & drop them home. That way I spend a small amount on fuel, don't drink alcohol & the people I'm giving a lift to buy me at least 1 coke each!
