Gap Insurance
Can anyone confirm whether you are able to purchase vehicle replacement Gap insurance on a nearly new car (14 months old) or does that only apply for new cars, and is return to invoice the only option?
For various company websites I've tried, I seem to be able to get a quote for both and the vehicle replacement insurance is not much more expensive on a 5 year policy.

You can get vehicle replacement on secondhand vehicles.
Arguably for a large insurer it is cheaper for them that RTI given the discounts they receive from dealerships are often better than what you've managed to negotiate on your invoice.0 -

you want return to invoice as you will get back what you paid so in effect it will be vehicle replacement as you will enough funds from your insurer and GAP provider0 -
Vehicle replacement can be very good if you have bought a model which is about to or has just been face lifted or changed. This is because to buy another vehicle same age, mileage and condition but the newer model will cost more.
If possible find a supplier that will not pay a pet dealer but instead pay you the cash instead as this gives you more control.
Not forget though that it will not buy you a brand new car but one which was the same as your was on the day that you collected it or the newer model.Happiness, Health and Wealth in that order please!:A0
