A remarkable achievement recently from Homefix 24/7 managing to speak to the dead. Homefix 24/7 sold my mother insurance for her sky satellite dish for £75 a year – questionable insurance in that the cost of a call out is less. However the real concern is that their sales techniques. Their sales people used high pressure telephone sales – aimed at a confused old lady - but the real beauty was when they wrote to my mother in October saying - "following our telephone conversation of 3rd October we enclose your renewal documents. The telephone conversation, where they claimed she had renewed her policy, was remarkable in that she had by that point been dead for several weeks. Makes one wonder doesn’t it

How do you know what the content of the call was?

I have seen this before sent to an elderly relative. We looked into it and nothing had previously been arranged, as they did not have a satellite dish. Plus they were deaf and could not have had a telephone call with anyone and would not have been able to arrange. I think they send these letters out, in the hope that confused people think that they had arranged something previously, in the hope they feel committed to continue with it.The comments I post are personal opinion. If you have a problem with any organisation, enter into their official complaints process at the earliest opportunity, as sometimes complaints have to be started within a certain time frame.0

What the OP is saying is there never was a call, and therefore no content unless Homefix truly can speak to the dead
In my Aunts case they managed to speak to the deaf as well. Unless they had a video phone at each end, I don't think she would have been able to read their lips !The comments I post are personal opinion. Where did you get your facts from? :huh:0 -
The sales technique was probably a year ago. The OP is talking about a letter which refers to a telephone call giving instructions to renew.
Giving them the benefit of doubt, most renewal letters and the like will have been approved by their compliance team and will be within a standard set of letters. I doubt someone specifically drafted it for the OPs mother.
I'll bet they tried phoning, got no answer so just renewed it and sent the letter out.0 -

The letter I saw was several years ago and was addressed to someone who did not have a satellite dish, who had never arranged any cover, but had a renewal letter.
It is an odd way of doing business. The comments I post are personal opinion. Always refer to official information sources before relying on internet forums.
