How long do points take to come off your driving licence?

                    Sorry if this has been posted before.
I got 3 points put on in June/ July 2010 and 3 in September 2010, but the offenses were about 6 months before that (I appealed one as I still dont think it was my fault, I was doing the safest thing at the time! :mad:)
Anyway, I was wondering when you no longer have to declare to insurance they are on your licence.

            With most insurance companies its 5 years.0

            They count for three years but come off after four.0
 - 
            They count for totting up purposes for 3 years (12 points = ban)
They remain written / printed on the licence for 4 years
They must be declared to insurers for 5 years (see the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974) although there is a proposed change to the law which might reduce this to only 1 year (the exact impact is still a topic of debate)We need the earth for food, water, and shelter.
