Is bumping genuine threads a good idea to get rid of SPAMMERS on page 1.

absolutely not... having a user posting below saying its spam and reporting the post it to Mods is the best way to do it.
If you bump all previous posts, readers will read the threads again thinking there is a reply, but instead there's a post which says "bump" which is useless and does not help at all, simply wastes users time. same with those who get an e-mail notification of replies, they think there's a useful reply, but instead there's nothing there.0 -
I feel sooooo stupid as have had my eyes opened very wide this morning of 'these people'
A BIG THANKS to poppycat for making me aware of spammers & for telling me how to report them!
I also agree that reporting them & letting us know is the best way to do it. Which will stop anymore comments....keeping them off page one
Just my opinion!!No one can make you feel inferior without your consent.:happylove0 -
I think if someone reports the spam posts and does a quick reply to say "reported, do not post below" at least we get to recognise the spam and the spammers name. eventually the spam will drop away.
Poppycat seems to be the fastest spam spotter, doesn't stop the idiots trying again and again though.0 -
Yeah well done to Poppycat.
Todays SPAMMER goes by the name of "Whitti" - very funny I don't think.[STRIKE]30:22[/STRIKE]
