Alas, I've made them aware, in writing, of their mistake. I have no intention of wasting my money calling them. They've messed up, I've made them aware, I'll put the money to one side if and when it finds it's way back to me, I'm not doing any more of the legwork. Especially not on an 0845 number.0

Had a bit of bother with a couple of damaged furniture items from Tesco Direct about 2 years ago. They managed to refund me £50.00 more than I paid.No I didn't tell them as I had a bit of hassle getting my refund.
Don't think they are ever going to ask for it back,if they do they can take it.0 -

MSE stands for Money Saving Expert not Money Stealing Expert you know.0 -
I'm not going to be dishonest about it, I've told them, and have kept a copy of the email I sent as proof, however I am equally not going to chase them to rectify their mistake. If I hear nothing by The end of January, I'll send them another email. After that, it's up to them. I think that's fair. After all, if they want to give it to me for free, who am I to complain?0

I'm just thinking that as the authorisation (which is what is usually valid for 6 months) has already been collected upon, and then refunded, whether that initial authorisation would remain valid?
If not, I'm not sure I'm happy with Tesco using my card details again without informing me first. In fact, I shan't be happy if I find out they still have a copy of my card details.
If they contact me, I'd be more than happy to pay them, I just don't particularly want them helping themselves willy nilly when the error is theirs and I've been honest enough to bring it to their attentionsomethingcorporate wrote: »Well since you've been refunded you have that money sat there for when they do take it out.
I agree with your logic though, if they have already taken payment using an authorisation I doubt it would be valid to be used again so expect if they do spot this then they will call to ask for the money.
I guess the ball is in their court - you may get an unexpected xmas pressie from Mr T!
Thing is, they have had their money once - the fact that they are bouncing it back to the OPs account then 'may' take the payment again would really concern me, too. because they just might not stop at one reclaim.
I would want to be ASKED for the money again - not just wait to see if it disappears again...Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

If they are using similar software for click and collect to ASDA you've basically just been given it for free. Someone no doubt has clicked on the wrong function and everyone from that list will have had an early christmas present. The store will probably be unaware as the item will be shown as being sent back so it won't even be on their file anymore.0

You're talking about pennies in interest here so just leave it in your current account. That way, if they do take it then it won't hurt!Thinking critically since 1996....0

Have you ever called 55999? When I was a student working in the PFS for Tesco they never wanted to help and their grasp of english wasn't the best.
They moved EMS from Worcestshire to abroad too.

Call them on a regular basis, absolute utter waste of space! If they are using similar software for click and collect to ASDA you've basically just been given it for free. Not possible to do that.
You either need the order number or parcel number to do anything instore, and there's no batch function we have access to.
Like I say, it's not gone through the PDA and has now been written off as missing via the audit process
