Help....completing tomorrow!

Hi

I wonder if u can help me?

We are completing tomorrow & I understand that I will need to take the meter readings of the house we're moving into.

But here's my dilemma, I have no idea which company they use - southern elec, Ron, Scottish power etc..?!

Aren't I supposed to contact the company that the precious people had until we can switch to a supplier of our choosing????

I have details in respect of water company.

I know when we filled in our property form I had to complete details of who our elec & has companies are.

Help!

  • In my experience the utility companies will send a letter to 'The Occupier' (that being you) once they have received final readings from the current occupiers. Can you not just ask them ?

Isn't it in the sellers information pack?

If they wont tell you or you cant find them you might just have to ring round. There arent that many of them.

Just notify your current supplier and they will take over the utilities at your new property.

Cara79 Sharon80 is right it is important that you notify the current supplier whoever that may be. If you don't it can cause problems when you try to switch the supply. It also ensures that you are correctly charged from the readings when you move in.
