Help - Claimed 7 Years By Mistake!!

Hi I'm new - can anyone help me?
I started this whole process back in Feb and filed the court action against the Halifax on Friday. I was just doublechecking my figures on the interest calculator and I've realised that my bank has sent me statements going back to April 2000. By my reckoning this is 7 years. How will this affect my claim? Will the court throw it out altogether? Or will the Halifax have to pay only 6 years worth? (There's a big difference between 6 years and 7 years - approx £1000).
