Magiglo Affinity spare parts nightmare

I have just bought a new house, we have only been in there for 5 months and the fire has broke. No problems I thought, got a gas fitter friend round and he tells me the solenoid has gone. Now I know these things only cost about £15 so I thought it was great news. Spoke to the owenrs before me and the fire was put in 6 years ago.
I rang Magiglo to get the part who now informs me that magiglo went bust and Burnley took them over and they cannot sell me the part! They are saying that their spares for the new Magiglo Affinty are not compatable to mine. So I now have a fire indoors that cannot be fixed as I cant get spares anywhere. So something that should of taken and hour and £15 to fix may result in my having to fork out £800 for a new fire!!!
Has anyone got any advice of where I could get spares or what to do as its killing me knowing i may have to spend that much money on something that should be a easy fix
Magiglo/Burnley are not helpful at all. There standard answer is sorry we dont do that part anymore! Very frustrating!!:mad::mad::mad:
