hi all,
looking into these 'yankee wax melts' instead of candles now , hopefully wont get the black smoke and dont really want plug ins for saftey/cost....
anyone know if they are good/better than candles?
only problem is delivery is more expensive than the actual melt!!
I've been using these for years, I think they are much nicer than the candles. I have a separate draw for them as I have so many (how sad is that:rotfl:). I stock up when I find bargains eg end of season ranges in shops and outlet villages such as Clarks in Somerset have a good range in Clintons, usually half price.
I bought some Portmerion burners for them as they are beautiful to look at (and match my vases;)). Couple of tips - you can reuse the tarts quite a few times before the smell disappears and you can usually get away with cutting them in half. Hope this helps0 -

I tried some wax melts from this company but they gave me an allergic reaction for some reason with a rash on my skin from touching the melts to put them in the warmer; not sure what happened and hopefully a one-off but I binned the rest I'd bought - never had that before with Yankee :-(i keep getting my posts deleted for some reason!!??
i thanked someone for posting that deliciousmelts.co.uk have 25% off all their scents yesterday and now its gone, and there is no offer code needed so not against forum rules.. really weird... :huh:0 -
I use half a Yankee melt in a glade electric burner, for some reason I get a lot more uses from the melt in the electric burner than I do in a tealights burner xx0

was it as strong? Apparently the electric ones burn at a lower temperature so the scent is not as strong but lasts longer whereas a tea light burner lasts less but is stronger throw.0 -

I have it on in a room 18 X 18, you can definatly smell them but I agree a lot more subtle, the scent isn't as overpowering, I bought the burner when it was half price at £6 the only downside is that the plug isn't that long so may limit where you put it xx0
