jobseeking help
No, I haven't physically signed anything with JCP regarding working 16+ hours, but was told on the phone when I informed them that I was starting the job that they would sign me off JSA over the phone without me having to come in to the office.
On Wednesday I received a letter from them informing me that the last payment I would receive was £42 JSA for last Thursday Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Sorry if I'm being a pain - I'm confused dot com too !
Hindsight is a wonderful thing ....... maybe I shouldn't have jumped the gun and informed JSP straight away, but I didn't want to deceive.
Ps ........ anyone any suggestions as to how to get the employer to pay me the two days pay they owe me ? ( 10hrs @ minimum wage )
Right, OK
It is still possible to authorise your claim to be closed over the phone but usually very difficult to get anyone to pick up the phone.
Can I suggest that you check that your claim has been closed formally through the IWKS system. If not then the person who closed your claim did so incorrectly and you can demand that JCP reopen the claim as it is not closed properly - if you want it reopened.
If it has been closed in the correct manner then presumably you will wish to make a new claim for ESA. You can do that in the same way as a claim for JSA. - see my previous notes.
Hopefully the employer has some personal integrity and will pay you. You may have to go 'cap in hand' and explain the situation - apologise that you did want to work, it's just the hips don't function as well as they once did.

Thanks so much for the advice, I'll probably be going down the ESA rocky road - I will let you know how I get on.

More advice please......
The place I worked for just 2 days as I mentioned in my previous posts above, are refusing to pay me for the days I worked, saying " We aren't paying you because you didn't work the week "
This can't be legal, surely ? I have had no contract either verbal or otherwise stating that if an employee doesn't complete a whole week they won't get paid. The last time I rang I was told I'd get it on the 4th of January.
This has been going on since the week before Christmas, when I submitted a claim for ESA , and am still waiting for a payment from that so this £60 odd would be a lifesaver right now.
I would be grateful for any advice you may have ?0 -
