Where are you going to get your father's DNA from?

One of the half-siblings would have to agree to give their DNA. As it's hardly in their interest to do so, things might stop at that point.

It would be unfortunate if the half sibling wasn't actually the father's son!

If you decide to go to court, who will be paying your costs? Can you afford it?

No but my uncle has agreed to pay for it in Italy.

In Italy if you refuse to do DNA whether you are siblings or not it automatically means that they have something to hide and I win. Emailed an ITALIAN lawyer to ask questions already these are all questions I have already thought long and hard about it.:T

Basically this newlaw which came into place about two week ago!!! in Italy is giving everyone the same rights to share in the estate of their biological father regardless of being adopted, illegitimate or not.since I started this thread I found out alot more today and it is looking good for me to pursue. It will upset my half sibling yes but like I have been told I HAVE THE RIGHT!!

I have thought long and hard about this. He has estates worth nearly 800 thousand euro. In Italy DNA is not allowed to be disputed either from any of the relative plus my dad had brothers and sisters they can do DNA off them too. Of they refuse I automatically win!!!!! wow My mum was from a little village and everyone knows everyone and he had alot of family. By law none of them can refuse DNA.It cannot hurt for to try and get it what is rightfully mine too.

And to be honest my siblings would do the same. :-)

Good luck. Yes, that is a good point, I'm sure your half siblings would do exactly the same.

Let us know how you get on.

Thanks.I can only try if not that is the end of that. My mum brought us up on her own and I am doing it partly for money I won't lie, I am skint and pregnant but MUCH MUCH more than the money it is the fact that someone said I did not choose my father and I have rights just like half siblings do. Why is that not my right to go for it? They each have an apartment mortgage free and I never wanted or thought about trying to claim for anything I just accepted that I was the unfortunate one in this and they were lucky to each get an apartment from my biological father and I just accepted this my whole my life but since my uncle called from Italy and talked to me, I thought why not? He said I am legally entitled to it. the law has changed to make it easier for people like myself
to have the same rights as his children from a marriage.

End of the day we come from the same father even though he and my mum split up. It isn't my fault I was the unfortunate one in this.

I had lots of questions too, it seems it is not going to be easy but not that hard either. My worry was DNA too and upsetting people but then someone said I bet they would do the same to you and as for DNA they cannot refuse it by law in Italy which I was relieved about. My half siblings accepted me as their half sister. I have photos of my dad my siblings gave me and their mum acknowledged that her husband was my father too. I am entitled to it a share of it too.
