AA Internet Extra Issue 5: anyone know the end date??

Just checked our AA online savings account and it's still showing interest of 3.20% gross (AA Internet Extra Issue 5.) This particular issue was launched at 2.6% on August 8th last year and relaunched on December 8th at 3.2% based on a 12-month bonus of 2.7%.

As December 8 2012 has now gone, I'm assuming the 12-month bonus is -- in our case -- applicable until December 18, at which point we'll have had our Issue 5 account for 12 months.

Sorry if this is a daft query but the AA's online information hasn't always been reliable in the past and I'd be a bit unhappy if it turns out that we're not actually still getting 3.2%.

It's 12 months from the date of opening.

The wrote to you a couple of months back to remind you!

Yes as stated above, mine matured earlier this month.
  • Mine has also just matured. (I don't recall getting a letter from them, but I might just have ignored it since I knew it was in my diary.)

I was also thrown a little by the fact that it was still showing 3.2% for a few days after the expiry date (8th or 10th), but today it is showing as 0.5% online.

Received a statement in the post the other day, and that also showed it as 3.2% - seemed a little disingenuous since I knew it was about to drop. Could easily have lulled someone to leave their money in there.

Just remembered that I had a letter but closed it before the maturing date - when Lloyds increased their Advantage interest rates to 4% and transfered the money into there.

Thanks everyone! Nope, we haven't received a letter but perhaps one is in the post. We'll assume then that all's well until December 18 but will apply today to open another savings account -- M&S. Thanks again.
