I need to cut / edit a peice of music for the daughters ice skating but have no idea on whats the best free software to use.
Does anyone use (or prefer) a certain program and have any links?

Audio editing can quickly get complicated, but Audacity is free and works well enough. If you want to save the result as an MP3 file you'll also need this addon
Personally for something like this I'd just throw something together in Virtual DJ but that's a whole different kind of complicated since it's designed to be used live. It's definitely not for everybody, or even most people.
Try Audacity first

Audacity gets a second vote. Easy to find by googling, so no link0

Audacity - if you can't do it in audacity, you probably can't do it (without some hefty studio kit and a lot of experience!)0

I would definitely go for Audacity it's one of the best free audio editing softwares out there.0
