Hi all,
I am looking at buying a 2nd hand car through a dealership on Autotrader. It's almost 2 years old and i would like to pay for an AA check to be done on it to be on the safe side. As it is quite a long way away was going to arrange for the check to be done on a weekend and then be present on the day and if all ok purchase the car. My question is if i pay for a check between now and then that i am just concerned about losing the £120 if someone in the meanwhile buys the car if you see what i mean. How do people go about doing these things without losing money or do i just take the risk? Thanks

Put a deposit on the car with the understanding that you will buy it if the AA check turns out all good.

But seriously what do you expect to find wrong with a 2 year old car?

Is it a large reputable dealer? Is the car not still covered with the manufacturers warranty? The only warranty i suggest you bother with.
