No no no no no, you do not replace good bulbs with ones that will likely fail before the original ones would have done. :eek::eek::eek: I really don't know where you have got that from and have posted it not on a motoring site, but a money saving site. most bulbs out last the car. But mine aren't.

Definitely the Philips +30% H7s that are £8 a pair on eBay at the moment.
Fitted a few sets now, nice light and they last bloomin' ages.0 -

Given you have changed "a few sets", how long are they actually lasting?
When you analyse it my situation of having to change a headlight bulb every 6 month, albeit over 2 cars doesn't seem too bad, it means on average they last 2 years each, but from past experience that seems far to many especially given that my car is used little at night and both are fairly low mileage runners anyway.
And yes it does happen that certain models have appetites for certain bulbs as I'm sure others have noticed. The previous car I mentioned earlier, a VX, that didn't need a headlight bulb in the 7 years I owned it, needed the numberplate lamps replacing almost every MOT.:AI like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
