Sounds like she is following standard procedure. I know it's not especially nice but it's designed to elicit a response.
Have you called back since receiving the letter to explain what has happened? The rent officer is probably not aware that you are pregnant, and unless you are a tenant of a very small housing association, I very much doubt she is the only rent officer.
There's also nothing nefarious about her calling you from a mobile phone, it will be a WORK mobile.0 -
If you were two weeks late with a private landlord they would be voicemailing you too.0

I have experience of private renting and my landlords gave me benefit of the doubt when I fell behind slightly with my payments they did call but they were understanding and asked if everything was ok as they knew that wasn't like me at all, and this was a letting/management agency that have a reputation for not being that nice.0 -
This is exactly the right thing for them to do.
To be blunt, you have signed a tenancy agreement that will say that you are responsible for paying the rent. You have not done this and therefore broken a condition of your tenancy.
Obvioulsy I cannot know the details of the messages that have been left, but it sounds like the action that you describe as threats, are actually letting you know what the inevitable consequences of your failure to pay.0 -

I'm on my phone so writing properly is trickier, sorry. I think I will be editing/deleting this post as like others I have posted on this section of the forum, as opposed to other sections here, I've only had rudeness and sarcasm. Such as the suggestion on one q I asked about the service charge and was told that myself and some other tenants should get together and buy the development-which would cost around £50 million quid. Never mind.0 -

That's not right, what you and the other residents can do is take over the right to manage (RTM). That would mean getting all the residents to form a company together which would exist solely for that purpose.
There would be costs involved but nothing like 50m Maybe you could do some research into it.0 -

There isnt much point asking for advice on an open internet forum if you're going to have a strop as soon as you receive some advice you didn't want to hear.
You signed a tenancy agreeing to pay rent by a certain date. You're now in arrears for the second time during the tenancy.
You received a letter from the HA demanding payment, you opened and read that letter and decided not to respond until two days later your landlords called you (it doesnt matter whether they used a mobile phone or not) and confronted you with the consequences of being a renter that hasn't paid their rent.
Your experiences with private lettings agents are not relevant, what is relevant is the terms of the contract you have signed.
If you want to know whether or not they can evict you, its hard to say because I have never seen a HA tenancy before. Under a normal AST which the majority of private renters are stuck with, you can have 2 months notice at any time after the initial term.
I would imagine, probably, if you actually called the HA rather than ignoring their letters and avoiding their phone calls to instead post on internet forums, they would probably back down as long as they knew the rent was coming.0 -

I'm not entirely sure where it was that I was rude to you when I replied at 5.09 this morning, but hey ho.0
