Can anyone point me in the direction of websites or companies that sell parts for older cars.
I have a very trusty 1994 Nissan Sunny 1.5 Auto and need a few bits.Front Grille.Electric window cable etc .Veh is a grey Import and the best that I could get here for £ 3k (makes me weep what I sold when moving here.Hindsight is indeed wonderfull).

Thanks

It's always fun when it's a grey import, Nissan dealers don't have a clue, and in order to look up your chassis number they have to *shock horror* change the CD in their computer. A process that apparently takes half a day. Nissan's parts system is designed to screw you over as the same part will have a different number in the UK vs Japan, so Nissan will insist that you have one shipped over, which takes months, and will charge you an extortionate price.

I'm guessing your car is actually a Nissan Pulsar?

The proper front grille will likely be difficult to obtain but a UK one will probably fit, take the old one off and take it with you to compare. Electric window cable will probably be the same as UK but you're really best off asking on an owners forum. If you have established that a UK part will fit then the usual round of scrap yards, both local and online, should be able to supply you.

What you really need is the chassis code. Since yours is a Japanese import then this will be a 3-5 digit code that identifies the car model (I'm guessing yours will be N14 or similar) followed by a six digit number that uniquely identifies your car. Discard those six digits and say you need an electric window cable for an N14 Nissan Sunny.

If your part truly is unique to the Japanese version then I have had good experiences ordering parts from Motorsport IRS. They will look up the part for you based on the chassis number, buy it from a local Nissan dealer and ship it to you for a much lower price than what Nissan UK will charge for the same part and you will typically have it in a week.

Aha, so it is a Pulsar then.

In that case my suggestions in my first reply still apply :)
