Payments to unverified paypal user

Hi all,

Quick question:

What happens if you make a payment to a seller who is unverified at paypal?

The reason i ask is because i am overseeing my dad's account while he is away, and he has just sold something, and it is his first ever sale (he's bought before using paypal). On checking his paypal account to see if the buyer has paid, i notice his account is unverified in status. I assume this is cos he has never specified an account to be paid out to? What happens if the buyer makes a payment to this account?

    Verified or not isn't really relevant to you. What is relevant is whether the buyers address is confirmed and eligible for PayPal seller protection.

    Yeah, I knew that was a big issue, but i assume not being a verified seller won't matter. As long as the buyer can pay, i'm not too concerned.

    The buyer's or the seller's?

    The buyer hasn't paid yet, so i don't know yet, but it should be fine as he has good feedback etc.
