Desperate Help Needed

Options
I am aiming to get together a group of mortgage brokers to raise some money for charity, but I am stuck for ideas as to what we can actually do

Here's the situation

We can only afford to have a one day exercise
we are all of varying levels of fitness:o
we all live in different areas of the UK

Can anybody suggest an activity (preferably something mildly physical) that we could all do?

Many thanks in advance,I'm hoping this could be a really successful event

  • Hi again MM,

One of my freinds told me her work was organising a sort of team event in the Leeds half marathon. I think the idea was relay style, so those of a lesser fitness could maybe do a little less, im not sure how each stage was organised, but im sure each of you could do their bit in varied amounts. As for picking your race, there is a website called ukraceresults or something. If you put "john schofield+race results" into google you can find it there. This rather good site gives a list of the race calender for the whole of the UK. So you could take your pick from a range of events of varying lengths. They are listed in date order, so maybe some could do a race based in one part of the country, and some in another, possibly on the same day. Anyway sorry to ramble but i hope this gives you some ideas. Although i accept its "running" based, which may not be your bag.

    have fun!:j

  • erm...i know it may sound dumb and silly, but how about having like miniature egg and spoon races, and "sack" races? There are also many other events includin 100m sprinting and discuss [i.e. olympic events] which could be used....

Don't know if this helps but at least i bothered! lol!

You could contact big companies and get freebies and raffle/auction them off.

Thanks to all that contributed to this, we have decided on a charity tombola, we all guess what the bank of england base rate is in may for £10 each (I know, sad, but its what we do best!), then again in December, and I think some of us who are business owners may donate a lump sum

I might see if I can get them to do something else during the summer months too

    Thanks for all your help

Something that might appeal, as it's mildly physical but quite unusual.

It's in London, so you'd all have to travel, but just a thought.

One of my friends is taking part, so even if it's not for you, you ould sponsor her. I've got some other ideas ticking over in my head, and I'll pm them to you when they make more sense!

    Hi give it back

unfortunately the mortgage brokers who partake on MSE mortgage and endowment forums are a selfish uncharitble bunch

I only managed to get 3 other brokers to commit and alls gone quiet when I keep asking "who's in then" £10 a month is hardly breaking the bank is it

I'm very disappointed to say the least - I think now I know how charity organisers feel!

Don't worry about it! You're doing something, and not as many people do that as you might think. Well done on making the effort. (I really will get that pm done in the next day or so)
