exfat is a MS propriatory standard.
format it to fat32 and try it on a media player http://www.ridgecrop.demon.co.uk/index.htm?fat32format.htm

A Western Digital WDTV Live (less than £70) will play just about anything that you throw at it. You could network it too, so you can either plug in your USB stick, or stream from your computer - audio, photos and video. Your problem is SCART... The output will be via HDMI, so you will have to get an adapter to convert from digital to analogue and they aren't cheap - around £50 for a budget one, more for something decent. After all that, you end up with a reduced quality image. Hardly MoneySaving advice, but maybe it's a good time for a new TV?0
