childcare help for students in scotland

I was widowed and left as a lone parent to my 3 children. I had given up work quite a few years ago to care for my husband when he was sick, and also our children. I have now applied for PGDE in primary teaching. Can anyone tell me if there is help with childcare cost for students in scotland? there appears to be a childcare grant available in england but i cant find an equivilent in scotland and tax credits say they wont help as i wont be working (despite the course consisting of 50% placement time in schools). my children will be 10,8 &3. thanks.

I'm afraid all I can provide are the links, I don't know much about them myself, I expect by now you have found this information elsewhere. Good luck with your course, my Mum did her PGCE when I was in Primary 5 or 6 and had a great career as a teacher and holidays with me!
