What premium stuff is worth the extra

In the sprit of the post which says "what value stuff is best avoided", how about what premium stuff is worth the extra?

I think meat products like burgers & sausages ect, it's worth paying for the best.
My DD is 19 now, but when she wore nappies I only bought Pampers.
I only buy quality fabric softner, vaporesse & washing tabs (for the smell:D ).
Quality dishwasher tablets - I like those Quantrum ones.
Cat food feed Royal Canin. When I used litter I bought the bob martins white crystals stuff.
Coffee - hate cheap coffee.
Toilet paper, hate cheap loo roll, I like the aleo vera stuff but DH doesn't like it. Not so fussed about kitchen towel.

I know some of them are luxuries, but I think they are worth the extra.

Won't buy cheap loo roll or kitchen roll, unless absolutely necessary. Too harsh when it comes to loo roll and the kitchen rolls just false economy.

I pay more for meat as I get it from farm shop. Well worth the extra. Have occasionally bought things like stweing steak etc cheaper but TBH rather pay the extra and have less if required.

If I buy it I only buy pure juice, nothing from concentrate, yuk!

Ben and Jerry's icecream for my DS mainly is probably the least value for money but he only has a little and loves it. £3.99 a tub but if I am just buying it for him he has to make the tub last at least a month because if it runs out tough!
One day I might be more organised...........

Heinz baked beans. Actually we buy the Weight Watchers ones but they're still Heinz. Can't stand any other make/type.

    Jxx
And it looks like we made it once again
Yes it looks like we made it to the end

My daughter actually doesn't like heinz, but I get cross & blackwell or branstons. She likes heinz everything else ketchup, tomato soup ect, just not their beans?

Meat, yes, I like the sainsburys "taste the difference" joints of roast beef.
I only buy the super lean mince beef as well, the dieters stuff, less than 5% fat.

Ah yes ice-cream, Ben & Jerrys or Hagen Daize ONLY, LOL.

I like the Hellmans extra light for DS, he loves mayo but too much, it's the only one with as few calories I can find.

I think that hellmans extra light is far & away the lowest mayo there is. I think even the WW one is a good bit more.
    I get it too:D

I think it varies according to personal taste. For instance I do not buy cheap shampoo, but neither the most expensive one.

Food however is a different matter. What we put inside our body has a big say on our state of health, and only the best will do. I'd rather scrimp on other things, but when I buy meat, it has to be organic or none at all. Most of my food is organic and I adapt my meals to what organic food I can find at any given time. I believe it's well worth the extra.

Good point there Quasar, it's like a friend said I am mad because I made the kids chicken nuggets with fresh chicken breast instead of buying smart price dippers, like I said at least I know what's in them, good enough reason for me to spend the extra!

I like premium stuff, but I always try to pay less for it. For example, I always like to carry a pen (I'm just old-fashioned like that). IMHO, the best pen in the world has to be the Fisher AG7 Space Pen. If it's good enough to use in space, it should cope with pretty well anything on Earth. In the UK, they cost £49.95. However, you can buy them online from the USA for $48.75 + $10.00 postage. At the other extreme, I get 200g jars of Nescafe coffee for £1.99 from InStore.
The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life. :)

Someone put on a thread once that cooking from scratch was like eating finest foods at value prices & I think that sums up doing it yourself from scratch as much as possible.
Some people just look at food as a means to fill up on, there is a big market for value sausages, burgers, turkey twizzlers (a la Jamie Oliver), LOL. I personally wouldn't dream of buying a packet of sausages for 50p, how can you expect to get quality meat for 50p:eek: , its scary whats in them:eek:
