I have just been shuffling my own motor documents and realised I missed one off the list!:

EU Motor Accident Statement form (otherwise known as "Don't Get Angry" form:-)

This is a standard form carried by most European motorists for use when you are collecting details and making the sketch etc. The idea is that hopefully you never have to use it!

It's been around for years and expect to receive one in the pack with any Foreign Use insurance documents (you might also get one thrown in with the AA 5 star pack).

Its NCR style, copy each for you and who you hit and is folded to A5 size with a blue cover and the one enduring tip printed on the outside is:

    (altogether now!)

    Don't Get Angry!

    Have a great trip!

Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker
We went for a one day trip in France, and was looking for what to bring to be able to drive there. There were lots of info. but came to a conclusion that these were the only things we brought:

    Passports
    Money/Card
    Photo card driving license
Car insurance (called in advance to make sure driving in EU is also insured.)
Breakdown cover (we did not bother)
Log book (or an authorise letter from the owner of the car or whatever documents to prove you are entitle to drive that car)
    Sticker to adjust the headlight
GB sticker or GB registration plate
Replacement bulbs in case the bulbs fail

The rest were recommended but not compulsory in France:
    Safety kit
    Reflective vest
Hazardous Triangle (it is compulsory only if your car has no hazardous lights)

And don't take any speed camera detector in the car with you.

That's all I can think of.
