Bad Sky picture on new tv

Hi Guys and gals,

I was hoping someone could help me with a problem I am having. I have sky and we had the signal sent through cables to all the rooms in the house. My bed room and my mums bed room tv gets a great crisp picture 95% of the time but occationally it starts getting fuzzy. We have just bought a new tv for the kitchen, now whilst all the freeview channels are perfect the sky channel come through constantly fuzzy and some times goes off, it never gets a perfect picture. I have tried changing the RF channel incase its interference but it doesn't seem to make much difference, i've also tried playing with the picture settings and fine tuning on the tv but agin it doesn't change it. Any ideas what it might be and how to fix?

Thanks

Gemx

  • Hi,

Thanks for the reply, I will try that but we did have a small (fat tv) in there before and I never noticed a problem with the picture but the might be because the new tv is 40in so it might not of been as noticeable on the small tv. If it is the issue is it a case of getting the cable replaced?

    Thanks

Do you have a distribution amplifier for the RF feeds? If so maybe turn up the wick on the one that feeds your room. Or swap outputs and see if that improves.
Fce it though you are not going to get the best of pictures from an RF feed to a 40" TV.

  • Hi,

Thanks for the reply, the distribution amp, would that be the box in the loft that has all the cables coming off?

    Thanks

What Freeview reception you get is not relevant, as that is from a totally separate source (your aerial ).

Yes it is. It should be powered.
