bathroom window regs?

can anyone advise me?
are there any building regs regarding the position of a window over a bath/shower?
you know what it's like in a modern house, it's almost impossible to have a shower positioned away from the window due to the size of the room!
currently we have just a bath but i'm thinking of fitting a shower over.

I'm in a similar situation and all they said to me was that it had to be toughened/laminated and I chose the least see-through stuff I could find which was Stipplyte.
