;like a fool i have slightly dented my wormates car in the car park. the paint is okay but there is a small dent we cannot get out.

there are several dent removal companies in the Yellow pages that look just the job for this.

Has anyone used a company like this ? what did you think and what is the Approx cost.

this is the company i,m thinking of putting my work mate on to

ive used a few companys after asking around localy, theyve been very good and charged around £40 per panel

theyre usualy franchises so theres good and bad people around, ask at at some prestige garages to find out who they use

My BIL used a dent repair kit from Halfords £19.99ish
I never thought it would work but it did so may be worth a try.
  • My hubby does this and I asked him for you.
He said he would charge £30 but if you was local and he knew you he would charge nowt if he cudnt fix it !
However we're in sunny donny and a long way from the mids so obv have to charge petrol. It shudnt take more than 45 mins to cure.
    Hope this helps

Does anyone have any experience of using Halfords Chip & dent repair service?
I took it to them for an estimate and they quoted £165 (they don't actually do the work but give you a voucher and you take it to a repair centre) and then I took the car to an "authorized" dealership for comparison - who sent me to where they send all their cars who quoted "...between £700-£800" and probably best to go through my insurance.

I know the dealers charge more obviously - but I can't see why such a massive discrepancy...
Has anyone had any work done using the Halfords service? Good / Bad?
    Thanks

The dealer / bodyshop will possibly replace a panel and respray half the car. The halfords repair will just repair / respray a small area. The technicians are not franchised they are employed by the repair company. I think they are one of the better quality smart repair services and the paint finish is gauranteed.

The chip and paint guys use water based paints. Not as hard wearing as 2k.
If you intend to keep the car for length of time, get it done properly at a bodyshop.
