complaints regarding student finance

Hello i would be grateful for any advice on this matter, i am at breaking point with student finance.

I applied for student finance earlier this year (my first year) and was asked in august to fill in an identity conformation form i did this twice and each time it was returned stating that information was incorrect (which it wasnt all the info was correct) I them got another one filled out by a family friend who is the company director of her husbands business after several weeks i still hadnt heard from student finance so i phoned them to be told that because the work address and home address are the same i would have to provide information that this was actually a work address, they asked me to send in a company letter head with address, phone number and the companies VAT and LTD information on. I did this and after several weeks and many many phone calls i was informed that my application had been approved and had been passed over to the processing team, after another week and more calls i was told that it had been passed onto the grants for dependent team (i think thats what its called) and that would be the final stage, however a week later i am now being told that all i have been told over that last few weeks was incorrect information and they cannot accept my identity conformation form due to the home and work address being the same, and now have to start all over again with a new id form.

All of this has been really upsetting as i am a single parent of three young children and have had no income since September and also risk having to defer for a year as my tuition fees haven't been paid.

Would it be worth complaining as if i had been given the correct information in the first place all of this would have been sorted weeks ago and me and my children wouldnt have had to suffer.

Kind regards kirstie
