Lighting an Oil Fired AGA

We have a larger 4 oven AGA, oil fired in our new house. We have never turned it on as yet but it was serviced prior to us moving in.
We attempted to light it last week, tried following the instructions on the inside door and online instructions but with no luck.
Could anyone help?

Presumably it has an automatic ignition cycle. Can you hear it trying to light? Did you check there is oil in the tank and that any isolation valves are turned on?Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..0

Sorry for no response, we had internet issues and I forgot.
I have got the AGA lit.
What number on the dial in the control part should it be set at? Also should it be making a noise?0 -
They make a noise when they are first lit. It should quieten down after a bit. Try five and a half on the dial. They are all different though, so you may have to adjust it up or down. Keep an eye on how close the thermometer on the front gets to the black line. The black line is the suggested ideal but you may get better results if you run it slightly on the hotter side of the line0
