1 & 3 yr old to be educated & busy! Your ideas please

Hi all,

We are off to sunny Sweden for six months soon and I am only allowed to take the bare minimum  My question is what would be the best things to take to keep a 1 and 3 year old educated and busy? I shall bring some books etc but do not want to buy anything over there due to trying to save as much as possible to get ourselves out of some debt when we return.

Thanks in advance

MM x

Story books and dvds and story cds (for car) are the things I can think of, that you *might not* be able to get in Sweden, or the sort of kids computer that says a for apple when you press the buttons. Anything toy wise that doesn't use the English language you can probably pick up in Sweden. It'd also be fun for them to have some stuff that they can't get here.

drawing stuff! a wildlife book so you can go exploring.
you should be able to experiment, eg do a nature walk pick up some bits then do a collage at home!
Jigsaw puzzles, a teaset or someething similar for imaginative play!

Try to make sure you get access to the internet when you are out there and then you can go on the cbeebies/milkshake/disney websites for lots of activities to print off and do together etc. I would look at it as 6 months fun in the outside whatever the weather so go on lots of walks and picnics, maybe take a small kite, magnifying glass to look at the insects etc. fantastic opportunity...wish I could go!
