Safegas Boiler Cover *AVOID*
We took full cover with Safegas for our boiler after seeing numerous excellent customer reviews and have come to regret it. A week ago we alerted them to a leak coming from the boiler at 7pm. They promised to come at 8.30am. they didn't, just phoned to say it would be sometime in the morning, only to turn up at 4pm with no explanation or apology. The engineer said a part was needed and would be ordered urgently, and would hopefully arrive the following day. The next day I had a message saying the part wouldn't be in for a few days. I phoned them the next day (Saturday) to say the leak had got worse and was told the part was expected Monday and they would phone Monday morning to arrange a call. When I received the call Monday it was to say the part was in but they couldn't attend to it until Thursday. I told them the leak was getting worse, and was not spraying water all over the electric control panel. The following day I phoned again to say the leak was now a constant trickle, and was told that the part was not in so they couldn't do anything. I pointed out that I knew the part was in stock, so they told me they didn't have an engineer to attend. By Tuesday the leak was a running stream of water so again we phoned, and was told they would phone by at 8.30am when the main office opened. They didn't. We phoned them, to be told they were cancelling customers so they could come out to us. but not of course until the following day. Today the boiler understandably has given up the ghost after a week of running water through it. They are disappointed I am upset with their service, and now just put the phone down when I phone as there is nothing left to discuss beyond the engineer will get to us when he can. My 2 small children are now full of colds and getting chestier by the day. DO NOT use this company - they have neither the staff nor the infrastructure to make good on their claim of offering an emergency call out and repair system.

They are proabably just a back office which farms out work to whatever contractor they can lay their hands on.
For the price they charge you could have had better...

Definitely going back to British Gas. When we swapped to Safegas it was due to glowing reviews on consumer sites, and a seemingly good offer. Turns out not so great...
Boiler now fixed only because consumer direct stepped in and were fantastic.:A Sealed Pot Challenge - number 263 :A0
