My little Sis has just bought her first place and the best advice I can give is buy what you need when you need it. It gives you a bigger budget for the things you need and also stops the place getting cluttered.
Congratulations on your new home. Some people don't exaggerate........... They just remember big!0 -
We kitted our house from ikea, argos and tescos in the first instance...And have been gradually upgrading stuff since.0

This time of year can be handy to double up your Clubcard points and use in Tesco Direct. We bought all the kitchenware with Clubcard points when they did the x4 deal last year - £10 of unused points located by using the My Clubcard website made for a very useful £40 to buy all new cutlery, utensils, etc.
The only things we got extra were the tablewear (found some decent quality ones cheap in TK Maxx - had 4 dinner plates, side plates, bowls, and mugs for about £12) and saucepans/frying pans (spotted a Tefal set in Sainsburys half price, decided to give it a miss, then discovered £5 Nectar points and got a £4 off voucher when we checked out with our groceries, so off we went to get the set!
Also, asking for bits and pieces as Christmas gifts helped. We got a toaster and kettle set from my mum and stepdad, a doormat from my brother, and other bits and pieces from various relatives.
Another option, if you don't mind second-hand (though there's the odd brand new item offered) is Freecycle/Freegle or similar.0 -
From my experience, buy just what you need to buy and then get it as you go along. Its all very well buying an entire dinner service from argos value etc but if youre going to change it in 6 months time then just buy a couple of plates and buy when you find something you like.
Buy cheap, buy twice!£2 Savers Club #156!
Looking for holiday ideas for 2016. Currently, Isle of Skye in March, Riga in May, Crete in June and Lake District in October. August cruise cancelled, but Baby due September 2016! :j0 -
For plates and the likes, I would suggest having a look at something that should be around for a long time so that you can just buy a few items at a time and build up.
I started buying a few plates (Denby, so nothing outrageously expensive) when I was at uni nearly 20 years ago, took a few years to get everything I wanted - the stuff is still available today so should I break something I know I can still get replacements. Incidentally, I find their stuff incredibly resilient - the only thing I've replaced so far is one bowl which had a small chip on the side. I've also registered with them so that they will let me know in advance if that pattern gets discontinued. Now free from the incompetence of vodafail0 -
Hi it's really amazing !!! Anyway, you can start from planning of what you should do ! lol.... If you are worried about home decoration then first fix that what color actually you like. After selecting the color search that how do you like that color furniture. I can assist you by remembering about white color because, white is a color of peace. If you can decorate your home with white furniture then you will see an amazing look in your home!0
