Hi, I'm New :D

Hi there,

My names Kieran and I'm 17 (18 very soon to be). Basically I came to this website (mainly this section in particular) whilst I was researching part time ways of making money either online of offline. I'm very money motivated and will do anything to become a millionaire.

The reason I am money motivated / orientated is because I come from a sort of wealthy family, my parents earn just over 75K a year, my brother earns around 40K a year and it has made me think that I dont want to be on 40K a year in 10 years time... I'm currently studying IT at college which is like a side track, but I mainly want a career in Property Development and general entrepreneurial.

If it was up to me I would drop out of college tomorrow, but haven't got a fall back (job of some type) so my parents wont let me.

I have got savings from last year, that are currently around 3K that I am willing to invest in anything that will make me a nice profit. My parents said that they would help me out with any more money, if i needed anymore to invest in an idea.

Seeing my parents and my brother earning so much money makes me want to start my career and my empire now, and not start earning a nice amount yearly when I reach a certain age. Most teenagers can do it, so I think I can! Like I said, Ive got money to invest which money isn't a concern I just don't have any ideas :(

Hope someone can help me out with some ideas...

Thanks,
Kieran.

Kind of a sad admission, if it is true then rob a bank, easy way to become a millionaire over night.

If you consider £75k salary a lot and particularly if your life priority is money then dont give up IT. Get a few years under your belt and an IT BA/ DA can comfortably earn £500 per day as a contractor, become a project manager after that and your £600 per day and a programme manager after is £750 a day.

Use an offshore umbrella for now whilst the loopholes are open and your take home is conservatively £675 a day, assuming minimal holiday to build your cash and your talking take home of ~£165,000 a year which to get via a normal employee job would be ~£300,000

Evidently there are other less mundane routes but that requires you to have ideas, arguably be better at the job and there is a higher risk. On the basis of your question it seems like your lacking the very first idea

You want us to give you entrepreneurial ideas, such that you can build an 'empire' to yield an income of more than £75k per year.... In return for what? Where's our cut?

However, you might want to study in detail how folks who are currently in charge of 'empires' got to that stage...... Start out with the Wiki entries on prominent folk like those on the Dragon's Den, Lord Sugar, Trump, etc, and move from there to those at the helm of business groups, prominent FTSE companies. Common themes may emerge, this may give you ideas.

My invoice is in the post.

    Tell that to his parents!
  • I think it's admirable that he's looking for a way to better himself. Most youth of his age are hanging around street corners.

The education system in this country mass produces employees.
The doctrine is to work hard get good exam results and then get a good job with prospects. And it's been the same since Adam was a lad.

And of course now there's no jobs.

Worrying that earning lots of money by doing "whatever it takes" is seen as a way of bettering yourself rather than learning skills to help humanity or doing charity work or such

Agree - not having enough money is horrible but focusing too much on getting loads of it doesn't guarantee happiness.

Kieran - Try to keep a balance in your life so that you can see the value of things as well as the cost of them.

Maybe I interpreted his post wrong.

I see him as someone who wants to earn as much money as possible while he's young so he doesn't end up like so many in this country who still have to work way past retirement age.

He also seems to understand that JOB is an acronym for "Just Over Broke"
  • what are you good at?

    what are you interested in?

start with those and then think are you wanting to provide a service or advice? product?
  • Hi guys,

First of all I just want to say thanks for the time and effort to these replies! Basically, as I now re-read the original post I posted on here I didn't want to come across as being big headed and bragging about my families income or my savings as such.

Also, I didn't literally mean the fact that I'll do anything to become a Millionaire. I meant it in a was as I want to be different from my mates or others around the same age as me and want to wake up tomorrow morning and have a £70K Range Rover sitting outside at the age of 17. I am willing to put the time and effort it, of course because I'm talking about my future. I am willing to wake up tomorrow, invest in my own business idea or a joint project and make it work by putting the time and effort into it.

Also, I want to see the different stages of each month of year of my status. But I want to do it by working for myself, and not starting off in an Apprenticeship or a normal job.

So yes, I'm very different to others at my age.

    Thanks,
    Kieran.
