  • Hi Kieran,

I am sorry that you seem to get slated on here. What I would advise is to get your education especially where the job market is concerned and as competitive as it is you are better to have a decent qualification.

That's the only advice I can give but I wish you all the luck in the world! We all want to be rich that's why we're on here even those who don't want to admit. It's a journey enjoy it but do what you love x
  • Also, must I say I have been thinking of starting to look into / invest into Stocks & Shares. I heard there can be quite a lot of money earned if you know what your doing. I wouldn't mind looking into it, obviously for a turnover profit in Buying and Selling Stocks & Shares and not buying them for a discount on products or services that the companies offer, instead I would be doing it for a small income.

    Thanks,
    Kieran.

In that case, get yourself down to your local library or bookshop, and pick up some books specific to the subject.
  • Never really thought of that. I've been looking online but I can't really say anything till Ive actually had a go! Only problem is, you have to be 18 to setup accounts with most brokers/banks. Which is bad and good, simply because I'm currently 17 but I'm turning 18 in 24 days (6th Jan). So gives me a bit of time over the Christmas holidays to get my research findings.

What you could do to get a feel for investing is set up a virtual trial. "Buy" shares with your virtual money. Keep track of them while you read and learn more. "Buy" or "sell" as seems right to you and after a period see how you've done.

Investing is like gambling - never use money that you can't afford to lose.

Have you considered peer-to-peer lending organisations such as Funding Circle or Zopa?

Get a good education and be anywhere up to £100,000 in debt if the figures blazoned on the papers recently were accurate.

Sugar was a market stall holder.
Branson started an empire from a phone box.

Bits of paper showing that on the day of the exam you remembered everything you studied for the past few years will only feed you if you can get a job.

In this country we have kids with degrees in all sorts of subjects flipping burgers for a living because they can't get employment.

They can't get employment because they have no work experience, they can't get work experience because no one will take them on.

Or they don't get taken on because they're more qualified than the guy doing the interview who is scared for his own job.

This might not apply to you as you have to be unemployed or working less than 16 hours a week but there are a couple of thriving companies round here that were set up with help from The Prince's Trust -
