Three weeks til redundancy

Hi all,
I have taken voluntary redundancy as my role is moving to the other side of the country and for a myriad of reasons I didn't go with it.
My official last day is 31 Dec. I have started looking for work, getting my CV online, registering with agencies etc, but not found anything yet. I will keep looking and will happily temp whilst I look for permanent work when new year comes around.
As it's now looking like I will be unemployed for a bit please can anyone advise if I have all my bases covered......
I plan in the next week or so to-
-open a savings acct with my bank to 'safeguard' the money so it's not sitting in my current account.
-reassure them at the same time that the payments on my car loan will be covered (I could pay off car immediately with some of the money but I prefer to have the monthly payment in my budget as I will probably always need a car).
I plan in the new year to immediately-
-stick some cash in my ISA.
-tell the car insurance co. that I am unemployed.
-sign on with the job centre.
I am also getting some money for unused holiday which I will use to pay off the balance of my student loan as once that's finished it's done for good and won't need to be budgeted for again.
We rent so we don't need to worry about a mortgage. Our rent and our household bills could at a stretch be covered by my wife's salary though obviously I intend to bring as much money as possible by temping if need be to cover my share and so we don't have to dip into my payout for day to day living if at all possible.
Have I missed anything??
Cheers

Why are you paying off your student loan? Are you on the old mortgage style student loan or the modern student loan repayment system? If the later it would be stupid to use your last monies to pay off the student loan.0

I'm on the old style one - DD from my account. Not got a huge amount left but would rather get rid of it so it's gone for good.0
