bank charges any ideas?

can i start by saying that i personally had a success thanks to this website (£260 asked for £208 recieved . halifax) but i have also been working on a claim for my friend who is disabled, i am his carer and look after most of his paperwork.
because of the way his benifits work he can be overdrawn every couple of months for a short period. i filled out his claim using the same method i had used for what seemed to be the 'same type' of charge. the total claim was for approx £1700 (including interest). but their reply (lloyds tsb) was that he is not due any refund as his charges were for dealing with his request to go over his agreed overdraft limit, they are not default charges as he had not broken his agreement. basically they are saying as all the 'hype' at the moment is about default charges he does not qualify. i feel this is just another 'get lost' answer but before i continue with the next step i would apprieciate any feedback
thanks
jonny

This is a common fob-off yes so you can disregard it and carry on. I find it especially sickening that the banks take such charges from income clearly marked as a disability benefit or pension. Good luck to your friend. :)
