Can I get what Amazon advertised?

Please note that as a new member, I cannot post links. I have instead replaced each "." in links with " DOT ".

On 20th November 2012, I bought a Panasonic Lumix DMC-GX1 in the Amazon Black Friday Deals. The full product name on their website was "Panasonic Lumix DMC-GX1KEB-S 16MP Compact Systems Camera Kit with H-FS014042E Lens"
It cost me £321.30, which I paid by Debit Card.

On 9th December, I received an email from Amazon, stating (I have cut out paragraphs to keep the post small)
It has come to our attention that the product detail page for this Camera Kit was showing a picture of a lens of a higher specification than that of the 14-42mm Standard Zoom at the time you placed your order for the Lightning Deal.

If you are happy with the Camera Kit you purchased, you don't need to take any action.

If you were expecting to receive the higher specification lens, please return the Camera Kit (body, lens, accessories & packaging) to us for a full refund, via our Returns Support Centre at the link below:

They've mentioned that it is the image that was different, but I'm pretty sure that the title was different too, and I have a screenshot of the page somewhere. I'll post that when I find it.

What I'm looking for is not a refund, I would like to have the product that was listed instead of what they sent me. Any help offered would be greatly appreciated.

The link to the actual product page is www DOT amazon DOT co DOT uk/gp/product/B009L150KE
Note that both the image and title text has now changed.

The link to the product that is of the same description at the time I purchased the product is www DOT amazon DOT co DOT uk/gp/product/B00638OOF0

Thank you in advanced for any help offered.

It was a mistake. They notified you of the mistake and offered you a full refund. You are not entitled to insist on them complying with the mistaken photograph.

I'd understand if it were the single photo, but it's the text in it too, which was for a completely different camera kit.
I do find it a little strange that both the picture and title were "mistakenly" entered as it came into sale.
On that note, I got the picture, if you wish to see.
I've shortened the URL to make it easier to enter, but it is case sensitive.

There's nothing you can do. You cannot force them to sell it to you.

If you think it was deliberate misleading advertising on their part, report them to Trading Standards. However you still won't get the item you wanted.
  • I think I'll leave it for now, it's much more work than I need right now.
Even with the standard lens, it's still a good deal, I guess.

Thanks to all three of you for helping me with this.
