Any help on insurers

Hi there,

I am a European citizen-from Spain who lives in Uk for 7 years. I just bought a car in England and I wish to insure it. The problem is that in Spain you don't need to be a named driver in a policy in order to be covered and thus although I drove a car more than 10 years and hold a license for 12 years (Iam 30) I have no previous insurance in my name neither I have been a named driver before. That means I don't get any no claims discount and prices to insure a £700 ford fiests 1.3 goes from 400 upwards. I think that is to much for a third party, fire and theft insurance. I was wondering if anyone knows an insurance that takes up into consideration that in Uk there are also people from other countries in Europe where named drivers and no named drivers have the same right as long as they hold a valid driving license?
Insurers in Uk think if you cannot prove that you were a main driver you must have claimed or involved in accidents but in Europe it does not work alike.
Any cheap quotes for me?

As you can't prove you drove claim free for x amount of years - no insurance company will give you a discount.

There is no cheap way around this other than pay the huge amount this year, drive claim free for this year and you will get 1yrs NCD which will reduce your policy next year
