Something different from flowers for Christmas

Hey all,
I'm looking for ideas for something to send my girlfriend for Christmas. I've sent her flowers when she moved into her new place a couple of months back and also for her birthday last week. Both times she really loved them but I want to do something a bit different for Christmas to avoid getting repetitive and boring.
It's a long distance thing right now so something special would be nice. We've got each other a couple of Christmas prezzies already but I want to surprise her with something unexpected so if anybody can think of any ideas that would make a nice alternative to flowers (or at least some sort of variation on that) then I'd appreciate it. :-)
Any ideas?
Thanks

You know your girlfriend, what does she like?
Jewellery, perfume, smellies, outdoors stuff? Hampers are popular on here. What about a memories hamper? With stuff relevant to things you have done together?
What is your budget?0 -
I'd go for the perfume, most online companies will wrap it nice for delivery.Life is short, smile while you still have teeth

Is she far away? What about a train ticket to visit you? Or meet her in a romantic location for an hour or two?
What about an online date? You get wine and a takeaway delivered to you both at the same time and chat on Skype?0 -
You could send a little hamper put together by yourself. Place in it things like your girlfriends favourite chocolates, a great film, music, a really good book, a pack of miniture bottles of baileys and some luxury bath soak. I bet she would love something like that. Its so nice to be able to pamper yourself and indulge in all your favourite things. Even nicer when someone special has gone out of there way to think it through and got it right
The best day of your life is the one on which you decide your life is your own, no apologies or excuses. No one to lean on, rely on or blame. The gift is yours - it is an amazing journey - and you alone are responsible for the quality of it. This is the day your life really begins.0 -
The online date sounds fantastic :jarbroath_lass wrote: »Is she far away? What about a train ticket to visit you? Or meet her in a romantic location for an hour or two?

Arbroath lass - what on earth are you thinking about here? :rotfl:That made me laugh out loud - it's got "rooms by the hour" written all over it!0 -

Whoops . I've been married a long time that didn't even occur to me
. I meant for lunch or dinner or a walk in the park, honest :rotfl::rotfl:
And the meet up was so neither had to travel too far!0 -
Thanks for the ideas! :-) I've decided to go with the hamper/basket idea. I've bought stuff separately and will combine them into one personalised hamper for her.
I've got the basket (which has purple lining - her favourite colour), I got a personalised chocolate tag for it and also a message for her written on truffles (I won't say what it says lol), a bottle of Baileys (which I know she likes), a book and I'm going to put a couple of DVDs in that I was going to send her anyway. I'm going to have a look in town tomorrow for maybe some purple tissue paper or similar to pack things out with.
I think that should do it - chocolates, something to drink and something to watch and read too. Sounds pretty good to me so I hope she'll like it! :-)
Thanks again
