Hi All
On Friday i ordered 3 items from Waitrose on my credit card, one was a book and 2 were for fresh hampers. The fresh hampers are due for delivery between the 19th-22nd of December.
At the time i noted i had a £1 pending amount on my credit card account which i know is a pre authorisation (Waitrose validating the card) but that £1 dropped off my account today.
Today i received the book part of the order which was £3.75. I have just logged into my credit card account and now in the pending items it says
RECURRENT TRANSACTION and the amount is for £3.75.(which is the book)
Is this because they will be taking the money for the hampers at a later date? and it is therefore classed as a recurrent transaction?

I would look into this much further. I believe you may have inadvertently signed up to buy further books.0

There are no other books to buy.:rotfl:
I have spoke to my credit card company and they have said that because they didn't take the full amount as the hampers have not yet been sent then it is classed as a RECURRENT TRANSACTION as they will be taking the rest of the money when they do dispatch the hampers at a later date.0 -
That's good news poppie but I would still keep a careful eye on it. A few companys I have heard of have add in 'small print' that you have signed up for further monthly purchases. I hope this is not so in your case.
Best of luck and have a merry Xmas.0 -

Thanks:)
Yes it made me panic to start with but after the credit card company explained i understood.
I will keep an eye on it but i don't think i have anything to worry about. The company is Waitrose direct and there isn't anything you can sign up to on a monthly basis, it sells goods and that is it.
Merry Christmas to you to.:)0
