Hi.
Quick question on PILON. I was given my notice of redundancy last Monday with four colleagues. We are all on the same contracts, each with six months notice. We have been told that we would be expected to work some of our notice, and the rest would be PILON.
My query is.
We were given end dates today. two of my colleagues have been told they can finish end December (one months work, five months PILON). One has been told end Jan (two months work, four months PILON) and two of us have been given end Feb (three months work, three months PILON)
As its six months total in each case, I dont think the employer is doing anything wrong, however I'm a bit unhappy I have to work for an extra two months with nothing extra for it (I hope that doesnt come across as ungrateful and you know what I mean)
Is there anything wrong with what they're doing? Is there discrimination?
Any advice welcome. Thanks

Gives you longer to come up with a reason that they need to keep you handy if those that they let go were realy needed.
Look at why they think they need you longer than others and negotiate.
Bottom line is they could put eveyone on garden leave and choose when you each come in, makes you popular with the others if you pul that off.
One advantage of staying if those leaving early get jobs and the company they work for does recruitment bonuses thats a way in you loo katractive they kept you on.
Depending on the job you may get better networking opportunities by staying.
Oh.. the question yes they can give different termination dates.0
